Updated Location Info

The Facebook page for the project just added a link where you can download a very nice (and accurate) map of all the box locations.  This map also names the artist for each box since not all of them are signed (at least not in an obvious location.)

I find this mural attractive, but not exciting.  That's a pretty good combination for public art.

I had a different perspective on this project than many Ithacans.  I was out of town for three weeks, basically the whole time the murals were being painted.  When I got back, they had all magically appeared.  It was kind of amazing.

Definitely Not In Kansas

Hard to get a good view of this one, even after the truck moved.  The choice of focus here is interesting (Glynda, I assume.)

This one does not appear to be on my list.  I'm not sure why.  Anyway, it's a bonus; I only promised one per week.

I think this mouse is feeling happy and totally overwhelmed.  I like the whimsy in this one.

Box Locations

Initially I had a terrible time finding information indicating the locations of the boxes.  Then I read through the Facebook page and discoverd that Brett Bossard created an awesome Google map showing the locations of all 21 boxes and giving a "before" picture for each one.  Here's a link to his map.

Public Art

I have been photographing public art, especially murals, in Ithaca, NY for my own amusement for the last few years.  The recent project to paint murals on 21 electrical junction boxes throughout the city provides a perfect opportunity for me to get out my camera. I will be sharing my photos here and on the Facebook page listed below.
